Release your creative side...
It couldn't be easier...
Step 1
Clean your hands - the pottery doesn't like dirty fingers!!!
Choose your ceramic piece from our display to paint, or speak to a member of our staff about our commission ordering service .
Take a clean wet sponge and remove any dust or marks from the piece.
Step 2
Create your very own unique design – Inspiration to paint your own pottery can be provided by our samples, templates or staff – If you’re stuck, just ask for help.
Step 3
Select your colours from our extensive range of non toxic paints
Once you have selected your colours, take the corresponding paint from the tray on the table and squeeze some onto your pallet tile. The paints dry very quickly, so only use a small amount at a time - you can always get some more if you need it.
Apply light colours first and then build up to dark.
Remember - wash your brush or sponge out between colours!
Paints, sponges, stamps, pens and templates are available for you to use, with our staff on hand to get you started.
Step 4
Create your very own masterpiece - Every piece is a personalised and individual piece of art!
Paint strokes - 1,2,3:
- 1 coat of paint will give a water colour effect
- 2 coats of paint will give a medium coverage
- 3 coats of paint will give you an opaque solid coverage
Step 5
Hand your piece of art over to our friendly staff and we will glaze and fire it in our kiln. We aim to have your pottery ready for collection within 1 week. The pottery is suitable for food use and can be used in the dishwasher (although hand washing is recommended as it can reduce the lifespan of the pottery). Pottery should not be used in the microwave
