Terms & Conditions and FAQs
Paint Your Own Pottery Northampton General:
- You don't need to book for a painting session, however we do recommend it during our busy times to avoid disappointment (recommended during weekends & school holidays).
- We are only liable for the price of the piece and studio fee - if any damage occurs during the firing process we will offer for you to come and paint another piece to the same value.
- All breakages within the store must be paid for.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect pottery before it leaves the studio. Roobarb & Kustard will not be liable for any damaged items or breakages once the item has left the studio.
Pottery Parties Northampton:
- Pottery Parties deposits are non-refundable on the basis that you will be securing your party space in the studio and therefore no other party can be booked at the same time.
- Final numbers must be confirmed at least 48 hours in advance of the party. If not all children are present on the day of the party, you can always paint pottery yourself to make up the numbers, or the items can be distributed around the remaining children.
- Balance of party to be paid on the day.
Evening and team building ceramic painting sessions:
- Min. of 10 painters required for the evening session, otherwise the evening may be cancelled - Deposits will be fully refunded if this occurs. Management will notify you at least 48 hours in advance.
- Deposits are non refundable unless the session is cancelled by Roobarb & Kustard.
- Team build session must be held during normal opening hours, otherwise this is considered to be a ‘chill out evening’
Frequently asked questions:
How much does it cost?
We have a Northampton studio fee which is £3.95 per painter per session (if you decide to paint more than one item, this is only charged once per visit) - This covers the ceramic paints, use of tools, glazing and firing process.
On top of this is the price of the piece, prices of which start from just £3.50!
How long will it take?
It usually takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, but you are welcome to take as long as you wish.
During our busier periods, such as weekends and holidays we may have to limit your time to 2 hours per session, but we will advise you of this on the day.
When can I collect my pieces?
We aim to have your painted ceramic piece ready for collection within 1 week (excluding Monday's), however during peak periods this may vary slightly.
We will advise you on a collection day when you paint your piece.
Commission and signing plates will take longer, details of which will be discussed along with your requirements.
First footprints are likely to be ready for collection within 1 week along with any party pieces.
Clay imprints and impressions will take approx. 4 weeks due to the drying and double firing process.
Is it toxic?
No - All of our paints are non-toxic, lead free and food safe.
The paints are all water based and therefore wash out of any clothing easily.
